For the past few weeks I have been experiencing brain fog and difficulty concentrating. I am also having frequent loose motions/diarrhoea. Recently I have also been noticing memory issues where I cannot remember small things. I am 21 years old and otherwise healthy. I wanted to know if this could be due to any nutritional deficiency like Vitamin B12, Vitamin D or Iron, and whether I should get blood tests done. Please advise.

Based on this, you may have chronic gut malabsorption leading to severe nutritional deficiencies, such as low Vitamin B12, Vitamin D, or Iron, which are essential for nerve and cognitive health. However, for a proper diagnosis and to check if your gut lining is inflamed, we need a complete laboratory blood workup and a stool analysis.
Health Tips
To accurately evaluate your nutritional blood report values, pinpoint the exact underlying cause of your chronic loose motions, and provide a targeted prescription to clear your brain fog safely, please book a direct consultation session via my Practo profile."
Hi,
Brain fog and poor concentration are quite common symptoms and can occur due to several reasons, such as poor sleep, stress or anxiety, excessive screen time, vitamin deficiencies (especially iron or vitamin B12), thyroid problems, or other medical conditions.
Since you've been experiencing these symptoms, it's important to understand whether they're affecting your daily activities, and if you have any other symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or weight changes
Meanwhile, try to maintain a regular sleep schedule, eat balanced meals, stay hydrated, and take short breaks from screens.
If the symptoms persist for more than a couple of weeks or are significantly affecting your studies or work, please consult a physician for a detailed evaluation. Basic tests such as a CBC, vitamin B12, iron studies, thyroid function tests, and blood sugar may be advised based on your history and examination.
Wishing you good health.
