I have gap between my teeth so I got braces in my upper jaw .So it necessary to put braces in lower jaw also?

Its compulsory to get braces in both jaws as occlusion (bite) also needs to be adjusted. The upper and lower teeth need to have a perfect jaw relation for proper functioning of teeth and temporo mandibular joint.
