BP 152 / 90 for 72 Years
Dear All, Morning I checked BP for my father due to he felt some dizziness and also yesterday he was not slept too due to some Itching. So Around by 10.30 we checked BP for him and it was 160/ 90 in the right hand. Again by 1.30pm it was 150/90. Previously he don't have Hyper tension. But he has Diabetes and Cholesterol too. So for that He is taking medicines Like Galvusmet 50/1000 MG, Atorfit CV, Lipaglyn, Gluvobay 50mg. Sugar is before food is 140 and After Food is 160. Kindly advise on this. Looking out for your timely support and guidance on this. Note: Today morning for Itching he had ALLEGRA 120 MG TAB

Please maintain a chart of bp measurement at 6 am 12pm 6pm for 3days .if it is more than 130/80 he might need to start on antihypertensives.

he can take a walk for 30mins maintain a healthy diet

Monitor his bp in the morning and evening for a week.If it's constantly reads above 135/85 using digital BP instrument, hypertension is confirmed.Make sure  1st bp reading should not be  considered .As he is dislipidemia and diabetic , hypertension needs to be treated.

He may need drugs for hypertension. Kindly maintain a BP chart for 5days / 3 times daily. If the average is high, then you have to start medications

Before checking BP, make sure the person has not taken coffee, major meal in the previous hour. Be relaxed for 15mins and then check BP. Ideally for your father it should be

Please keep a record of bp,thrice daily same time every day,in sitting position ,for 3 days.if consistently aboove 140/90,medications may be needed.in the meantime,let him be physically active but he should not exert himself.sleep should be proper. Also share hba1c reports,lipid profile reports and any other reports.his diabetes needs better control.a lifestyle modification should be considered.
