Betnesol Injection During Pregnancy
Hello I am 34 weeks pregnant currently no issues have been diagnosed as of now there are no complications or issues as per my recent scan too..but my doctor has suggested to take betnesol injection for lung maturity of baby but I am bit concerned as it's a steroid and moreover I don't have any indication of preterm labour.. please suggest me ahead.

Betamethasone is a steroid that is used for lung maturity of fetus.You should have asked about the reason for betamethasone.
Some institutes give this as precaution for preterm

Some doctors may have it as a protocol but if there are no chances of preterm labour or the baby is IUGR then no apparent need for betnesol injection.

Some prescribe it as a prophylactic treatment. Its safe though.
