Bad smell from mouth is known as halitosis. There are multiple reasons for it. Smoking, gutka chewing, poor oral hygiene could be possible reasons for halitosis. Apart from this, there are deposits called tartar/ calculus getting accumulated on your teeth and under the gums, which can lead to halitosis. That cannot be removed only by brushing. Your dentist will remove them during a teeth cleaning procedure called scaling. Scaling is recommended every 6 months for everyone. Other possible reasons for halitosis could be upset stomach, poor digestion, acidity or smelly food items. Please visit a dentist for proper diagnosis.
