Is CT scan or MRI better to detect upper back problems. Is doctor prescription mandatory.
I have pain from past 6 days. Visited 2 doctors but pain dint went. I informed to suggest for scan but they said dont need now. My pain has become more today.

Did you have any trauma (fall or hit) in the past?
If pain is due to bone injury Ct is best, if it's nerve problem then we have to get MRI.
pain could be because of many reasons need more detail for proper management .
