It can be due to nerve compression which generally occurs in disc bulge case of the back region, lrads to pain the back, hip and travel down to the leg.

How did your pain start? No Did you lift any heavy weight or had some jerk? You should visit some good physiotherapist and get your treatment done. Take rest completely along with physio. Avoid forward bending movements and lifting heavy weights.
