Baby refusing to breastfeed
My baby is 6 and half months old. She was given polio drops last Sunday post which she had fever and cold. Doctor gave antibiotics. Now baby refuses to take breastfeed. She cries when I try to latch her and feels fussy. Also she doesn't take much of solid foods when sick. Is this normal?

Polio drops don't cause fever. It might be that baby already had common cold. Sometimes oral ulcers develop after such fever episodes which might hurt while swallowing, and can be the reason for baby not interested in breastfeeding. Get the baby's throat examined by your pediatrician.

It’s not related to polio vaccination , Due to nose block she might be having difficulty while latching into breast for this you can try Saline nasal drops 1 drop to each nostrils then go for Breastfeeding . You can give warm water . Yes during sick time children will not take much solid foods, so it’s better to give more liquids along with express breast milk feeding
