If your child is standing without support, walking with support, or walking up and down the stairs with your help , then no need to worry . He just needs more time and encouragement ( with help of games) to walk without support. If your child cannot even sit without support at 21 months , it is cause for a bit of alarm and you should consider doing his development tests.
Next Steps
If you are using a walker , please immediately stop using it. This delays child’s ability to walk independently.Sometimes thyroid deficiency or birth insult can delay milestones too.
Health Tips
A normal language , fine motor and social milestone will also reassure against any developmental delay.

By this age baby should be able to walk a few steps on his own. so your baby requires a thorough examination by a pediatrician. occasionally this walking can be delayed as in your baby, but to say that you have to rule out all other causes .we have to see how is muscles are ,how is bones are ,and how his joints are, then only you can decide upon.
