Hello doctor,
Main 22 years old hoon. Mujhe ye issue lagbhag 13–14 saal pehle se hai, jab main chhota tha. Tab se hi thoda-thoda haath kaapna (minor tremors) shuru hua tha. Ab ye problem gradually badhti gayi hai, aur ab noticeable ho chuki hai—especially jab main kisi stressful ya social situation me hota hoon.
Jab bhi main apne comfort zone se bahar jaata hoon—jaise kisi group ke saamne bolna ho, ya thoda stress, darr ya pressure wali situation ho—to mere haath aur pair kaapne lagte hain, heartbeat bahut fast ho jati hai, aur kaafi anxiety feel hoti hai.
Public me khade hona, kisi anjaan group ke saamne baat karna ya confrontation wali situation me meri body visibly react karti hai, jo self-confidence pe kaafi effect daal raha hai.
Normal situation me bhi haathon me halka kaanp bana rehta hai.
Maine 1 week pehle ek psychiatrist se online consult kiya tha, unhone mujhe ye medicines prescribe ki:
Inderal LA 40
Lonazep MD 0.25
Serta 50
Lekin maine abhi tak inhe start nahi kiya hu

Hi,

Hello,
Thank you for sharing your concerns in such detail. Based on what you've described, it seems you may be experiencing Social Anxiety Disorder, possibly with features of performance anxiety and enhanced physiological sensitivity (tremors, palpitations). The long-standing tremors, especially when under stress or in social situations, support this.
The medications prescribed to you are generally appropriate:
Inderal LA 40 (Propranolol) helps control physical symptoms like tremors and palpitations.
Lonazep MD 0.25 (Clonazepam) is a short-acting benzodiazepine, often used short-term to reduce acute anxiety.
Serta 50 (Sertraline) is an SSRI used for long-term management of anxiety.
However, it's important to start these medicines under proper guidance, as they may have side effects, and dose adjustments might be required.
Next Steps
1. Please consult your psychiatrist again before starting the medications to confirm the treatment plan and discuss any concerns.
2. Once you start the treatment, give at least 4–6 weeks for the SSRI (Serta) to show full effect.
3. Combine medication with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), especially exposure-based therapy, which has strong evidence for social anxiety.
4. Maintain a journal of symptoms to track your progress and identify patterns.
5. Avoid self-medication or abruptly stopping any of the medicines without medical advice.
Health Tips
Avoid caffeine or stimulants that may worsen tremors or anxiety.
Practice mindfulness, breathing exercises, and gradual desensitization to social situations.
Inform your doctor immediately if you notice side effects like excessive sedation, dizziness, or low mood.
