Hey, both belong to the same class of drug and are equally addictive. Please do consult a psychiatrist online or offline for anxiety and please do not self medicate.
As clonazepam is longer acting is less addictive than lorazepam. However should be taken for shorter time as prescribed by a psychiatrist. Better option is to take medication which treats anxiety for long term and doesnt have addictive potential.
Also would like to add here clonazepam and lorazepam ( benzodiazepines) cause cognitive impairment so should be avoided and not to be taken without prescription
Next Steps
Consult and dont become dependent on benzodiazepines

Hey , both medicines can be addictive on long term use , so should be used only after consulting with doctor only
As clonazepam is long acting medicine, once per day will be helpful and works best for anxiety...
For short-term relief of anxiety, both clonazepam and lorazepam can be effective, but lorazepam is often preferred for brief or occasional use because it works reliably and does not stay in the body as long. Clonazepam has a longer duration of action. In either case, they are best used at the lowest effective dose and for a limited period under medical supervision
Next Steps
Consultation with a psychiatrist 6-3-0-3-7-7-4-7-8-2
Hello,
Both clonazepam and lorazepam belong to the benzodiazepine group and both carry a risk of dependence if used regularly or for longer durations.
Clonazepam is longer-acting and may provide a smoother effect over several hours. Lorazepam is shorter-acting and works relatively quickly but may require more frequent dosing depending on the situation.
In terms of addiction risk, neither is “non-addictive.” The risk depends more on dose, duration of use, frequency, and individual vulnerability, rather than the specific drug alone.
For short-term use under medical supervision, either may be prescribed depending on the clinical scenario.
Next Steps
• Consult a psychiatrist to determine whether a benzodiazepine is actually required.
• Use only for short-term or SOS basis as advised.
• Avoid self-adjusting dose or increasing frequency.
Health Tips
Benzodiazepines are generally meant for temporary symptom control, not long-term anxiety management.
• Long-term anxiety treatment usually involves medications specifically targeting anxiety ,psychotherapy, or both.
• Sudden discontinuation after regular use can cause rebound anxiety.
For short-term use in anxiety, both clonazepam and lorazepam are benzodiazepines and both carry addiction risk.
• Clonazepam → longer-acting, smoother effect, slightly lower rebound anxiety.
• Lorazepam → shorter-acting, works quickly, but may have more withdrawal/rebound if used frequently.
