Hello,
This sounds like symptoms of Panic Disorder, especially since you're experiencing episodes of intense anxiety accompanied by physical symptoms (like sweating) and fear of being without anti-anxiety medication. The avoidance of being alone or traveling may also suggest agoraphobia, which often co-occurs with panic disorder.
Next Steps
1. Consult a psychiatrist for a formal evaluation and medication adjustment, if needed. Long-term use of short-acting anxiolytics without therapy may worsen dependence and anxiety.
2. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the gold standard for panic disorder. It helps you gradually confront and manage fear of panic symptoms.
3. SSRIs (like escitalopram or sertraline) are preferred for long-term management over benzodiazepines.
4. Psychoeducation about the panic cycle can reduce fear of symptoms and improve coping.
5. Avoid self-medication or carrying medication just for reassurance - this can reinforce anxiety in the long run.
Health Tips
1. Try relaxation techniques (like diaphragmatic breathing or grounding).
2. Avoid caffeine and stimulants that may worsen panic symptoms.
3. Ensure regular follow-ups with your mental health provider.

Hi
It seems like anticipatory anxiety with panic features, possibly linked to a form of safety behavior dependence — where the absence of your anti-anxiety medicine triggers panic. This creates a cycle where your brain associates being alone without the medicine as unsafe, even when there’s no actual danger.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy especially exposure therapy, can help break this loop. Gradually, we work on reducing this dependency, calming the nervous system, and regaining confidence in your ability to be safe without constant reassurance.

What you're describing sounds like panic attacks with anticipatory anxiety, which is common in long term anxiety. Feeling panicked or sweating when you're alone or without your anti anxiety medicine happens because your mind has linked certain situations with fear. It is completely treatable with the right combination of medications and therapy ,you don’t have to stay dependent on SOS meds
The problem you are facing is anxiety and the cycle is continuing without medication. The cycle can be stopped with therapy like CBT along with medication.
