If he has been seen by an orthopedic doctor and cleared of any fractures, then rest, ice, bandaging and leg elevation would be the initial treatment. If he has persistent or worsening pain, review with orthopedic doctor

Rest your ankle. Ice pack for 10 to 15 mins in 4 to 5 sessions per day Crepe bandage or ankle support Always elevate by placing a pillow under your ankle. Ultrasound therapy by using diclofenac gel - consult a physiotherapist. Gradually pain decreases.  Then, start strengthening exercises.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  My first question would be, did he suffer from any injury? Secondly, is there any swelling? Did you consult a orthopedician or some one else? You need to consult a orthopedician in person for further evaluation and management.  Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
