Anger issues
I am in a 6-year relationship, where my partner is recently going through quite a lot of stress. Due to which, he is resorting to alcohol, self-harming thoughts. I even notice in his behaviour, that when we fight, he gets angry to an extent that he doesn't think who I am for him. Extreme aggression and violence. I understand he's going through a lot but I would like to find a better way for him to process his emotions. I'm not sure what the right way is, to do so.

Hi there, A detailed medical and psychiatric history is always needed for every case.In addition, a detailed mental status examination is also recommended for every case to get a diagnosis and its management accordingly. According to you, the problems appear to be in your partner.Psychological stressful situations come in every body‘s life and react and bear the stress in different healthy/ unhealthy ways. Perhaps your partner‘s coping skills are not mature. In addition alcohol has its own complications for the drinkers. Detailed psychiatric evaluation is needed for him. He appears to need medications and psychological interventions.
