Yes, you can safely add chia seeds to your diet two months after a C-section and while breastfeeding. Here are some reasons why:
• They are packed with fiber, protein, omega-3 fatty acids,
calcium, and iron, which help in your recovery and promote your baby’s growth.
• Chia seeds help relieve constipation and improve digestion due to their high fiber content, and bring in satiety.
• You can include chia seeds in your diet by making quick chia pudding or just soak 2 tablespoons of chia seeds in half a cup of milk (dairy or plant-based) for 20 minutes, then top with fruits and nuts for extra fiber and nutrients. It can be a wonderful snack when hunger strikes.
Begin with small amounts of chia seeds, soak them properly, and make sure you drink enough water to support healthy digestion.
You can also try simple tea recipes such as jeera (cumin) tea, fennel tea, or ginger tea by boiling the seeds or fresh ginger in water for 5 - 7 minutes and drinking it warm to help with digestion.
Always choose caffeine-free, gentle herbal teas and limit
sugar drinks for the best outcomes while breastfeeding.
