Dr. Pramod Adiga (Urologist) had suggested my father (aged 73 years) for a TURP surgery as he was suffering from Grade 3 BPH (Benign Prostrate Hypermegaly). The way the doctor explained the root problem my father was facing and the confidence he instilled in my father to prep him up for TURP surgery were commendable. A genuine service oriented doctor who sincerely works towards ensuring that his patients are well aware of the issue at hand and are confident enough in undergoing the surgery is very much worthy of appreciation.
Due to BPH, my father was suffering from various side effects such as Constipation, frequent urination, and disturbed sleep due to him having to wake up more frequently for clearing out his bladder during the night. Added to this, he also started getting symptoms of piles due to the stress he was exerting while passing the stools. He wasn't previously confident on undergoing the TURP surgery inspite of all these problems as he didn't have enough confidence on any of the doctors he previously visited. However, Dr. Pramod was a game changer here. Thanks to the reassuring words the doctor provided and his patience in handling my dad who was deeply anxious about the surgery procedure. There were a 1000 questions my dad had, and the doctor managed to answer and reassuring my father without getting agitated.
On the day of surgery, my father got admitted to Eesha Multi speciality hospital and the doctor operated a little late as he had some other surgeries which pushed our schedule. However, once the surgery started, the procedure went smoothly and there were no complications as such. Also, the nursing and house keeping staff at Eesha were good enough to bear with all the post surgery service such as emptying the urine can attached to the catheter frequently or administering saline on time and helping with the process better.
Its been like 9 days from surgery time and I see that my father is doing good now and he has noticed significant improvements in terms of constipation (he doesn't have constipation now) and also he has got back control of urine flow (usually after TURP surgery the patient loses control of urine flow for a week's time). He is having good sleep and is also having less frequent urine urges (he still gets up like 3-4 times a night but less frequent than before the surgery)
All in all, kudos to Dr. Pramod Adiga for helping my father undertake the surgery, operating himself, and helping with the follow up as well to check if my father is doing fine post surgery.
