Dr Poongodi Bala is a fine Doctor and a wonderful human being. We saw her for our daughter’s anxiety and depression problems. Our teenaged daughter was a bright and an energetic child with a positive outlook towards life. However, the strict isolation during Covid coupled with our upbringing mistakes transformed her into a gloomy kid. We thought these changes were just a part of growing up but unchecked the sadness kept on growing inside her. The tipping point came when she started harming herself. And only that time we realize that something was wrong. Scared to the core we started looking for help. By god’s grace we came across Dr Poongodi Bala.

Dr Bala instantly put her on medication and started counselling. She tried hard to connect with her and develop a bond with our child. The progress was slow but consistent. The treatment continued for few months during which the medicine dosages kept on changing depending on the doctor’s assessment. Meanwhile Dr Bala advised us to give our daughter little space and not to push her for anything. Slowly her medicine dosages were tapered and it was stopped altogether after few months.

During this period our daughter appeared for her 10th board exam also. A few weeks back she got her results. It was a mixed bag but she got overall ninety plus percentage, which was a respectable figure, especially for someone who had such turmoil during her most of the preparation period. Now she has started a new chapter of her life. In addition to her regular studies she has joined self defence classes and has started participating in various cultural events organized by her school and other organizations. She is back to her old self. And we have none other than Dr Poongodi Bala to thank for her transformation. Thank you Doctor.

I am aged 36. Juvenline diabetic for past 20 years and on insulin for 3 times a day. Also recently diagonsed with more medical issues and complications.
