Dr. S.M.Akerkar

I am patient of Ankylosing Spondylitis and currently getting treated by Dr. Akerkar. I came to know about Dr. Akerkar through one of my friends and then I decided to consult him. Dr. Akerkar is very friendly in nature. He provided me all sorts of help for expensive biologic treatment. After his medication and treatment I recovered to such an extent that when anyone comes to know about my decease they get extremely surprised. They wonder, how can a person looking so healthy can be patient of Ankylosing Spondylitis. Now, I am enjoying almost pain free life. I have referred Dr. Akerkar to so many of my friends and relatives and everybody have similar experience about him as a doctor and as a person. It is not easy to get his appointment, obviously due to huge number of patients but it is worth waiting for. After all it shows how many patients have faith in him and ready to wait for his consultation. This was on August 2017. I started joint pain and neck pain. I was scared and was not knowing what to do . I went to a orthopedic doctor. He gave some medicine. That medicine gave me more problem and I got admitted in Fortis hospitals and followed by a surgery. After discharged from hospital I was not able to walk. On searching internet I got the name of Dr. S.M.Akerkar of Mumbai Arthritis clinic at Bhandup. In the first time I went to the clinic without appointment and I was told Dr. Will consult only with appointment . Because of body pain I requested them and allowed me to meet the as last patient. The same day he started treatment and confirmed the arthritis. Till then I am under medication. Now I am almost cured.. Some medicine stopped. Now I have no problem for walking and doing my work. I am grateful to Dr. AKERKAR.

The clinic is functioning very systematically. Very neat and clean. The staff always kind and helpful.

Visited For Rheumatoid Arthritis Treatment

Three and a half years ago, Rheumatoid Arthritis made my wife petrified and desperate. My son searched for one of the best rheumatologists in Mumbai on Google and found Dr. Shashank Akerkar. Not only we were surprised by the improvements that started from the 3rd appointment, but we were also surprised to see that the doctor knew her pain level better than her (despite her exaggeration about the pain, even though it wasn’t like the others). Based on proper investigation, he started treatment immediately. His medication and advice benefited her and her normal life resumed and her health is now normal.

Dr. Akerkar is very punctual. The way he listens to the patient's problem is really appreciated. He advises the patients to perform only the necessary tests. His clinic is always crowded due to his excellent treatment.

actually im only 35yr old mother of 3 kid i was vry upset with my hlth issue i was undergoing for last 2 yrs i was taking treatment frm other doctor still i was nt stable to do any work .. i heard abt dr. akerkar i was searching in net abt my disease n for a good dr i read abt him i took his appointment he explained me abt my pain n why i was facing pain..

he changed my tablets n the vry nxt day i found diffrence in me this might sound hard but it is true i was nt able to get up frm by bed in this young age bcoz of swelling n pain in my fingers n body stiffness i was so happy and prayed to god tht thnk u for giving us such a wonderful dr. i also tld my mom to go n chk her knee as even she has the problem hope she ll also get the appointment n get well soon......

Since 3-4 months, I was having severe joint pain specially my fingers were badly affected and it was getting difficult to do simple things like tying up my hair. Pain, swelling, Heavy feeling and what not... I was completely into depression. I visited an orthopedic and with pain killers, i use to get relief for few hours. In a way, I was totally on pain killers. After few diagnostic tests, I got to know that i am suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. I started reading more and more about it and somewhere I started believing that I have to live with this pain for the rest of my life.

Everyone asked me not to search or read about RA on internet but I am glad that I did and found Dr. Akerkar. I read his interview on a blog with a name rawarriors. I searched him on Practo and read some positive and negative reviews but after reading his comments on each and every review, I was sure that i have to visit him atleast once. It was not easy to get his appointment but it was worth waiting.

Last friday my treatment started under him and I am already feeling soooo good. I am able to do all my things which were the most difficult things for me in last 3 months and yes that includes tying up my hair too :) In just 5 days, my life is back to normal. Isn't Magical...??

I have suffered from arthrithis for last two years. I had undergone treatment under various doctors and medicine but no.relief.Atlast my family doctor had recommended about Dr S.M.Akerkar and i got appointment and really it did well the way he spoke and his guidelines that u will go with zero.arthrithis i felt a little hope and continued with his medicine .touch wood it really worked.i am free of pain and good sleep which i had suffered nearly for two.years.Thank god for giving such a good doctor .I had lost my hope that i will survive with this disease but now i can tell each one that arthrithis is not life killing disease just follow guidelines by doctor S.M.Akerkar and u will surely win in your life

I took my father to Dr.Akerkar at Ajit Scaning Centre - Kalyan, after a month i got appointment. My father being a police inspector have done very stressed job and he suffered from heart issues and undergone PTCA in June also he is patient of CKD having creatinine level of 2.0 with increased uric acid 9.0.

After 15 days of PTCA, my father's knee pain started and slowly slowly pain increased and gone upto such level that he can't even move his legs. We visited various doctors in kalyan and also he was hospitalised in kalyan for knee pain but those Dr. couldn't identify the pain and cause of pain. One of my friend recommended Dr.Akerkar and after one month we got appointment at Ajit scaning and Dr. analyzed all reports and prescribed some medicines due to which my father felt relaxed. His right knee is OK but left knee is under slow recovery.

I hope further treatment will make my father walk properly.

Horrible experience. It was first time I visited since some one recommended us to show. But when we went he said I am into joints pain and all. And I had muscle weakness problem. He dint even check for 5mins. He saw the report and said u need to consult neurologist. So what did he charged us for. I failed to understand. So then he should have not charged us. Still he charged us 600. I hv already spent lot of money in this disease. I dint mind spending more if it will be cured. Bt the way he asked to pay for no reason was not acceptable. They had collected the fee before the Dr came. Otherwise we must hv spoken. And when I asked the compounder regarding the same she said Dr said he will charge.. Totally pathetic. U earn that's fine but unnecessary if u charge that is wrong.

Me and my husband are very thankful towards you for diagnosing the complex conditions, occurring simultaneously past 2 years.
