Ignite Physiotherapy, Undri

I am visiting Dr Rukayya physiotherapy clinic for my frozen shoulder for last 4 months.

There are few things i like to highlight which lead to gradual improvement of my frozen shoulder.

1) She has a deep understanding for each and every muscles and tendons and how they work with each other. The dynamic motion, the supporting and leading muscles movement is very beneficial in remediation of various injuries.

2) Never a dull moment - Every exercise in each session was new and fruitful. You will not get bored repeating same set of motion and actually look forward for your next session

3) Set expectation: She will tell you there will be pain, hardwork and it will take time. There is no shortcut in physiotherapy.

4) Dedication: She will allot a separate time for you without overlapping with other patients. She will be with you all the time to work on different exercises and posture. It easier to just plug some machine but she will work with you for each exercise.

5) Willing to listen: She will hear your every concerns, pain, lifestyle and diagnose accordingly and set a customize and designed set of exercises tailor made for you.

6) She will create a set of home exercises for you which you can continue even on the days when you are not visiting. In my case we did it in her clinic first which she recorded on phone so that i can practice at home

To be honest, I went to her as a last ditch effort for this unbearable pain in the forearm and elbow everytime I played badminton. I had tried everything, including rest and multiple other doctors/physio and chiropractors. So I wasnt really expecting to by be healed. But just after a few sessions I noticed that the pain was not there so much, and by the end there was no pain at all. I am back to playing competitively. Forever thankful!! Zero meds, no cutting or tearing my arms. 😛

Points to note:

1. Effort had to be there from my end. The given exercises had to be done. At the sessions and at home. Its not magic after all. 🙂

2. Unlike others, she did not prescribe complete rest. Instead she reduced the intensity and restricted the shots that i could play. Each week increasing the intensity, keeping a check on the pain or discomfort.

Her knowledge of different exercises and the impact that they can create on ur body is stupendous. I highly recommend her for back, shoulder, knee or any other injury that u may have. Give her time and get urself fixed.

Dr Rukayya is an amazing physiotherapist and a ****** friendly person. I had cervical pains for long and visited couple of therapists in the past. But the therapy offered by Dr Rukayya for a solution and not just a temporary treatment.

She initially counselled me , understood my concerns and then offered the right therapy. She even gave me videos to follow on ongoingly to avoid future recurrence of the pains.
