Dr Zahabia Basrai, was interested in pursuing physiotherapy as a teenager when she saw her dad undergo therapy post his surgery. She went on to study physiotherapy at KJ Somaiya college - Sion. After graduating she worked in home health, outpatient and hospitals set ups in Mumbai including Saifee hospital for over 3 years and Apollo Clinic. She did her further specialization in orthopedics in MGH institute of Health professionals in 2012 in Boston USA and worked in Silicon Valley, California in More physical therapy -an outpatient facility specializing in musculoskeletal and orthopedic rehabilitation. She believes strongly in an holistic approach to treating patients keeping in mind the latest evidence based treatments. Her hobbies include different group workouts and yoga as well as outdoor activities like hiking all of which help her understand her patient population better, She currently practices at Gamdevi in South Mumbai.

I am undergoing physiotherapy under Zahabia since a week. I had suffered Bell's palsy and the left side of my face was paralysed.
Zahabia knows her craft, she is very competent and dedicated but what sets her apart is her positivity and infectious energy which keeps rubbing off me.
It takes time for nerves to regenerate and results to appear but I am glad to report that within 10 days I have almost recovered under her watchful eye.
I can put this down to her tireless efforts, the umpteen facial exercises, the endless innovative sessions or the electro therapy but I would like to believe that Zahabia is special. Dr Zahabiya is excellent at what she does. I’m a fitness trainer myself and I’ve worked with several physiotherapists in the past. After having had a nagging back pain which didn’t disrupt my daily life but limited my workouts, I was frustrated as nobody was able to diagnose the issue. Within one session she was able to determine the issue and I have been working on resolving the matter with her since then. Extremely happy with her guidance and pro activeness. One of the best physios the city has to offer.
