Audeo P50 life Review after 6 months of Use..

I have been using Audeo P50 life for last 6 months and would like to review the same…

Brief history about me:

I am a 40 year old Chartered Accountant into management consultancy which means lot of meeting people for discussions.. I was diagnosed with hearing loss and used “Completely in the Canal hearing aid” for around 6 months of a different company and since it was not enough, my audiologist Mr. Piyush Gujrathi of “Shades” recommended “Audeo P50 life” (RITE) receiver in the ear style.

Basic difference between the two is “In the canal” is invisible to the naked eye but has basic function of making amplified hearing through the machine. If you want AI based aid which can adjust according to location / place or has blue tooth connectivity, water proof, can be adjusted through an app, then (RITE) type of aid is beneficial.

I would be comparing these two types of aids but there are other available in the market too..

Comfort in use:

When you are using “In the ear” aid, there is always a feeling of foreign object in your ear.. Although with time you get used to it and then adjust.. But with “Audeo P50 life” there is hardly any feeling of foreign object.. I am using it daily for roughly 15 hours and there is absolutely no discomfort in using it…

Battery life:

“In the ear” uses outside batteries and one battery used to hold good for a week.. so there is a recurring expenses associated with it..

“Audeo P50 life” comes with a rechargeable battery kit and you can place your aids in the battery box daily so that they are up and running the next morning… Company claims a battery life of 22 hours.. I use it regularly for 15 odd hours and still battery availability is more than 35% at the end of day..

If along with regular use, it is used it for listening to streaming videos etc. for long hours of around 2-3 hours then battery goes to around 10-15% at the end of the day.

In all battery life is good, the battery charger box itself has a battery of around one week, so you don’t have to put that box to charge every day.

Bluetooth connectivity for calls:

You can receive phone calls on the hearing aids and the quality is decent, only problem is since basic work of H’aid is to amplify sounds other party gets a noisy reception and sometimes connectivity is also a problem..

Bluetooth connectivity for Listening to videos:

The moment you use the “Audeo P50 life” for listening to songs or watch movies on phones, the quality of sound is amazing, It feels like you are listening on any premium speaker or headphones. I have watched movies and even after 2-3 hours of listening there is no pain the ears which normally is the case after using headphones for long hours..

Hearing quality:

Overall amplified sound is close to natural sound, sometimes you get a feeling of listening to audio, if you have adjusted the sound on a higher side…But overall sound quality is good..

Sometimes if multiple people are talking at one single time and mainly in closed room, there is an issue to hear the sound correctly and I get jumbled up noise sometimes..

Pros:

1. Good battery life

2. Good natural sound

3. Can be adjusted on app (sound / quality, type of location you are in etc. etc.)

4. Can be connected to the audiologist through net (Any satellite location)

5. Almost invisible

Cons:

1. Costly

2. Receiving calls is a bit untidy

3. Differentiating sound in case of multiple sounds in closed room

Overall verdict:

I would recommend people to go for “Audeo P50 life” as it has made my life easy and comfortable. Don’t think of how people will react when they find you using H’aid. Ears are just a body part like Eyes and H’aid is just like using Spectacle.

Dr. Piyush Gujarathi is very friendly and explains everything clearly. The clinic is clean, and the staff are cooperative. My wait time was short, and all my doubts were answered nicely.

I highly recommend him for quality treatment and reliable devices.

My son had a sudden loss of hearing in his left ear..one of my friend gave me dr Piyush gujrathi refrence ..I immediately called the doctor and said that I have to get an audiometry test done as he is facing problem in his left ear..At 9pm he was actually shutting down his clinic when he heard about the problem he told me to get him on an urgent basis to him for an audiometry test...he immediately started with the test n was very friendly n patiently handling my 15 yr old son as he was very panic...

Post the test he explained us about the problem and suggested to go the best ENT specialist Dr Milind Navlakhe ..he also spoke with the doctor before sending us and luckily we met the doctor ...ENT doctor explained us the seriousness of the matter and treated my son at the right time.

Right Time Right Treatment was given...Without these brilliant doctors this wouldn't have been possible..Now my son is much much better post all the treatment.

* Also would request to all ...please take the matter seriously if at all any ear pain or less hearing..could lead to complete loss if not treated at the right time.

😊Wonderful experience with Dr. Piyush Gujarathi. Very friendly and polite doctor I have ever met.

My in-laws have hearing problems since many years. They just always ignored and didn't give importance because they had a lot of misunderstandings about hearing aids. We have faced problems numerous times due to their deficiency. Both of them are 65-70 years old.

I'm so glad that I chose such a nice doctor who made it very easy. He combines expertise and willingness to listen and discuss. Is very attentive and explained everything in a clear manner. He has great patience with his patients and spends as much time as needed. It's really worth using these hearing aids for them now.

They feel quite relaxed mentally. They enjoy conversation on phone with friends and even in get-togethers, they can participate in talks and discussions. Also, they are free from danger on roads. There's just one regret that they realised the importance of these amazing machines a little late.
