Dr. Larita Pais (Physiotherapist)

When I went to Dr. Larita Pais 3 weeks back, i was painfully limping due to an internal knee injury. Now I can swim and do mild cycling without any pain. I strongly recommend Dr. Larita Pais to anyone with a sports injury. *** ** ************* *** her confidence gave me confidence that I will fully recover.

I got an ITB Injury during marathon training at 27th KM, but I kept running in pain for another 3 KM. This worsened the injury, so I had to completely stop my training. Two weeks of rest thereafter did not fix the problem. However, I still went to run in the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon with the injury. During the race, ITB pain started after the first 1.5 KM, but I kept running for the remaining 40+KM inspite of the excruciating pain. I had made up my mind to finish it come what may. So, I struggled and completed my first Full Marathon (42.195 KM) on 15th Jan 2017.

Then I reached Dr. Larita Pais for treatment. She told me that my ITB Pain was due to a flexible Meniscus and low muscle strength. She did some muscle knot releases which were painful but gave immediate relief. The Meniscus however was tough to heal and took another seven Physio sessions to get me to a walkable condition from a painful limp. Now I can swim and do mild cycling. However it will take another 5-6 weeks for me to fully get back to previous form. I got lucky that my Meniscus did not completely tear, or else I would have had to undergo knee surgery. So, I would not recommend anyone to run with knee pain. The best course of action is to stop immediately and go to a Physio for advice.

I had been suffering from severe shoulder pain after I sustained a fall last year. Mri which showed a tear in my shoulder muscles and was told a surgery would be required.Since i am into a lot of sports I was not very keen on undergoing a surgery and hence decided to take a second opinion.I contacted Dr.Larita via practo.During the consultation itself just a few questions and she told what the root cause of the problem was.She dint even look at the Mri.Based on a couple of test, she exactly told me what the issue was and how many sessions would be needed for the same.Within 5 sessions the pain was reduced by 85%.We started off with strengthen exercises then and I feel much better now in term's of my daily activities and sports.The confidence she instilled in me, help me to recover fast.She ensures the exercises are done correctly under her supervision.The home exercise program was very simple and easy to follow.I am happy that I recovered without the need for surgery.Have consulted many ortho and sports physios in powai in the past for various injuries but the pain would relapse in due time.The treatment here is individually tailored *** **** *********. When i went to Dr. Larita,I was in lot of pain and unable to walk properly due to Sudeck's Dystrophy caused by incorrect treatment by another doctor.

She was able to diagnose my condition and explain the treatment properly. Not only did she answer my numerous questions, she also prepared a treatment plan to meet with the limited time I had in hand before my marriage. I could feel my foot getting better after every visit and the pain receding.

Within a month I was able to walk pain and tension free. Though I am still recovering and being normal again will take time, but today after a month and a half I can slow jog for 10 minutes at a stretch with no pain whatsoever :) :)

Dr Larita is not just a doctor but a healer. She is great at what she does, is paitent and kind and she provides genuine advice and no false promises. In case you're in pain then don't think twice before going to her.

I have previously visited Dr. Pais for my ankle injury rehab last year and my experience was satisfactory. However, it's unfortunate that my recent experience with her was so disastrous. I visited her last week regarding pain in my lower back which I had been suffering from for about a month. She informed me that I had a muscle spasm due to a sports injury and recommended that I seek treatment for five sessions (her charges have been increased to Rs. 700/- and this change should be reflected accordingly on her profile). She also suggested some exercises that I should do at home. I had not visited an orthopedic surgeon for my concerns and neither was I suggested the same by Dr. Pais. On the day of the third session, Dr. Pais administered IFT to my lower back. When I returned home, I started experiencing sharp pains in my lower back region and my muscles started spasming to such an extent that I could neither stand, sit nor walk. I had to cancel work for the day and I called Dr. Pais re: the pain. She first told me that the electrical currents may be working on my muscles and that my spasms would be better in a couple of hours. She suggested I should take a muscle relaxant. When they did not reduce, she suggested that I should see a physician as i could have an underlying kidney or internal organ issue. I sought a consult with an orthopedic doctor the very same evening who informed me that while it did seem that I had a para spinal muscle spasm **** **** ******* *** **** * *** **** ************ ****** ** ******* the physiotherapist should not have started any treatment until my pain had subsided as the exercises and the treatment aggravated my existing condition. He ruled out the possibility of any internal organ issue. **** ********* ** **** **** *** **** * *********** ***** ******** *** **** *** **** **** **** ****** **** * *********** **** * ***** ******** *** ******* I have had to miss work for this past week because of the severe pain and I find it difficult to sleep at night because my back muscles keep cramping and spasming. A second consult with a senior orthopedic consult also confirmed the diagnosis of the first doctor, along with a severe Vitamin D deficiency which aggravated my condition (not considered by the physiotherapist). I cannot comment on Dr. Pais's clinical skills *** ** ***** **** *** ****** **** ********** ** ********* ** **** **** ***** ******** **** ******** ******* ** *** **** ** *** ********* *** ****** ** ** **** ****** ******** ********** For my part, I have learnt never to approach a physiotherapist before meeting an orthopedic surgeon. I hope this helps as a cautionary tale to others with similar orthopedic concerns.

I had severe back pain for which my orthopedist recommended me to see a physiotherapist for back strengthening exercises. I came to see Dr. Larita. She diagnosed me and mentioned that it would take 15-20 days to heal and it wouldn't be advisable to do the exercises at the moment.

I add 5 sessions with her which mostly was about setting me up with an electric shock machine for 15 min. Although it did alleviate the pain for some time it wasn't helping by the end of the day.

Dr Larita was professional, kind and helpful to me. However, what I did not like was her charging model. First of all, she charges 700/- instead of 600/- as advertised. Secondly, I find it unreasonable when she spends less than a min with her patient and puts him on a machine for 15 min; and still charges the same amount for every sitting. I did 5 sessions (3,500/-) and probably would have done more if I wasn't traveling.

I'm disappointed because a) I went there to learn about certain specific back healing exercises. That did not happen. b) I think she has an unreasonable charging model. ** * ***** * *** ***** *** **** ******** **** * ******** *******

I came across Dr.Larita via practo ,not knowing much about physiotherapy and treatment method for receovery therapy after hand surgery.She explained the treatement required well and the kind of therapyrequired for getting back to normal flexibility for the hand after surgery.Dr.Larita was patient to listen to my doubts on recovery procedure and care required and she is a thorough professional who can guide you well. Had to undergo 2 months therapy and could recover completely. She guided me throughly over the 2 months with her various treatment techniques and also on the kind of exercise I should take at home which is required for faster recovery. Had visited Dr. Pais for some lower back pain that I picked up while cycling after it refused to get better on its own. She was patient in explaining what may have caused this and recommended a set of 10 physiotherapy sessions of approx 20-25 mins ease the swelling. Her sessions were always on time and she was very accommodating in terms of scheduling the sessions at her clinic as per my schedule. Each session started with an initial inspection of progress post which there was this machine that was placed on my back with small contact points through which minor pulses ("shocks") were passed to relieve the back muscles. Although I completed 9 out of the 10 sessions, my back did hold up during my Ironman triathlon that took place about 1.5 months after I first visited her - so the sessions definitely seem to have helped!

I am doing regular workout but after lifting heavy weight, i felt that there is some pain in my right elbow. I cannot lift heavy weight during tricep session. I approched to Dr.Larita and explain about the problem. She chekched me and identified that I am having tennis elow. After 3-4 session my pain reduced ** **** Now had 14 sessions and feeling energetic while doing tricep workout. No pain and can weight heavy weight. Shes very caring and happy to help at any time. Shes cooperative and calm.

I was suffering from mild pain and stiffness on my left hip, starting from the lower back till the feet.

i went to orthopaedic and got my xrays done and doctor told me to go for physiotherapy as xrays were normal.

i went to doctor Larita and she told me its more like a muscle sprain and stiffness due to my long sittings at my workplace.

i took around 10 sittings and i felt better, there is an improvement in the heaviness which i used to feel on my left hip.

i still feel my left leg different from my right leg, which i hope will be cured by the excercises advised to me by the doctor.

doctor is quite friendly, gives u time and listen to your problems and suggests you excercises .

i hope to get a quick recovery.

offcourse the journey is not magical that u will get cured completely once you are done with 10 sittings,but you start getting better.
