M.Phil - Clinical Psychology
Her passion to explore the field of psychology inspired me to specialize in Counselling psychology which helped me to understand the importance of being an empathetic listener. To further sharpen my skills, She pursued my M.Phil in Clinical Psychology from National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro-sciences (NIMHANS), Bangalore (2022). In the past 3 years She has had the opportunity to work with individuals addressing various concerns ranging from anger management, anxiety, depression, OCD to interpersonal difficulties and substance abuse. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy and skills and techniques from various schools of thought such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy & supportive psychotherapy to name a few. She is inclined to use expressive mediums such as writing and artwork with my clients. Additionally, She enjoy my ‘me’ time by being close to nature and listening to music. She appreciates art and also likes to draw and paint once in a while. At times you can find me engaging myself in reading books as well.
Therapy sessions with the psychologist were very helpful to me in understanding what I'm dealing with. I suffer from OCD, a thought disorder with intrusive thoughts and obsession-compulsions. OCD has significantly impaired my quality of life. The sessions helped me understand the nature of OCD and she gave me helpful advice on tackling the intrusive thoughts and obsession-compulsions which I implemented. Thanks to this I feel much more confident and my time spent on obsession and compulsion has reduced a lot as has my anxiety in dealing with them.
