Dr. Nikhil A. Gokhale

Dr. Nikhil Gokhale graduated in medicine from the prestigious G.S.Medical College & K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai in 2011, with multipledistinctions and a Gold Medal in Surgery. He completed his residency inOrthopedic Surgery (M.S. Orth) from the same institution. He then trainedin UK (in the NHS) from 2016-2021 gaining sub-specialty experience inShoulder and Knee surgery. Whilst in the UK, Dr. Gokhale completed theprestigious Exeter Knee Fellowship (2019), highly specialized training inRevision Joint Replacement Surgery at the Royal National OrthopaedicHospital- Stanmore (2019-2020), and a year-long Shoulder Fellowship atRoyal Bournemouth Hospital (2020-2021). He is a Member of the Royal Collegeof Surgeons of Edinburgh(MRCS Ed), and a has Diploma in Computer-AssistedOrthopaedic Systems (Dip. CAOS) from Glasgow. Since graduating in 2011, hehas a cumulative experience of more than 2000 operations and procedures. Hehas a special interest and expertise in treating problems of the Shoulder andKnee (Open and arthroscopic key-hole surgery). He is trained in minimallyinvasive arthroscopic techniques, navigation, and the use of robotics(MAKO) forknee replacement. Dr. Gokhale uses treatment strategies that are evidence-based and is actively involved in research. He has published and presentedat the National and International levels. Some of his research areas includepatellar resurfacing in knee replacement, multi-ligament knee injuries,meniscal repair techniques, frozen shoulder treatment strategies, outcomesof shoulder resurfacing surgery, outcomes of distal-biceps tendonreconstruction.
