I was critically injured in a bomb blast. After almost 18-20 surgeries in Pune hospital, I was just about able to walk with support. But my right hand injury was so severe that it had fused at the elbow. Also the steel rod site that was inserted to heal the 5 fractures was oozing and was bordering infection. I was recommended to visit Dr Parihar for further surgeries and therapy. He explained to me in the first visit the possibility of my radial nerve getting damaged during the first surgery. But with his expertise, he was able to get the rod out successful and also was able to get a ROM of 40 to 120 degrees movement in a subsequent elbow osteotomy surgery. This gave me a new ray of hope to lead a much simpler, functional life and to perform my job in IT effectively. He also arranged for a special machine in his physiotherapy centre to improve my elbow movement at his Hospital. The therapy sessions were also affordable as I had to undergo it for 3 months. After couple of years he also performed a successful ankle distraction surgery to help me walk and stand for good amount of time. I would like to thank Dr Mangal and Dr Divya and entire team of caregiving staff for the good work they are doing and help likes of me to lead a better functional life.
