Dr. Fahad Afzal Shaikh is a registered Medical Oncologist and Hemato Oncologist practising at Jaslok Hospital & Research Centre in Mumbai, which is one of the oldest and highly reputed tertiary care multi-specialty trust hospital of the country. After specialising in Internal Medicine, Dr Fahad underwent formal DNB training in Medical Oncology from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad, which is one of the largest corporate Hospitals group in South India with over 3000 beds spread across 9 locations in the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He is well adept at medical management of patients with cancers of breast, lung, colon, prostate, ovary and so on. Besides prescribing conventional chemotherapy, he is well versed with efficient application of targeted therapy, monoclonal antibodies, hormonal therapy and Immunotherapy. He is also proficient in managing immunocompromised and neutropenic patients, inserting and care of central venous lines, administration of chemotherapeutic agents by intravenous/subcutaneous/intrathecal routes as well as managing their toxicities. Furthermore, he has valuable experience in Autologous and Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplant for benign and malignant diseases.He is an ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology) certified Oncologist. He received SCE in Medical Oncology from renowned Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom. He was part of Preceptorship on Breast Cancer in Singapore in 2019. He is a member of several reputed Indian & International societies such as European Society for Medical Oncology, Indian Society of Medical and Pediatric Oncology, Immuno Oncology Society of India, Association of Physicians of India, etc. He has keen interest in clinical research and has been part of several clinical studies & randomised trials. He has also presented scientific posters and abstracts at various national and international conferences for which he won accolades.
