I want to start with a sentence 'Dr. Shyam is an outstanding therapist.'

I started visiting him since February along with my husband. I was going through stress, anxiety and also our marital life was taking a toll. So my husband also decided to see him.

Dr. Shyam ensured, he spoke to us together as well us separately to understand our areas where we were struggling.

He has been very approachable and is a good listener. He is not someone who will just give an advice on mental health or some medicines and let you go. He will try to understand where you are coming from, hear you out. And also constantly encourages to practice different concepts and ideas to live a better life and not just depend on medicines.

Especially in a time like COVID, when the world has changed for all of us, my husband and I felt extremely lucky that we consulted him during this period. We had multiple episodes of arguments and fights in the past due to reasons like work pressure and also being 2 different personalities. But during this lockdown, we did not fight. We did have disagreements but we realised under Dr. Shyam's guidance we were being open to understand each other's situation and made peace with each other. It's such a big change in us.

I have also been facing huge amount of stress and anxiety, which links back to my childhood and I figured out I have been going through depression after we met him.

Dr. Shyam has given me minimal doses and has encouraged me to pick up a healthy lifestyle, like meditation, affirmations, practicing gratitude and told me nothing comes before our mental peace. Such a powerful message! It's been 4 months, and I am doing so much better now. There's a sense of calmness in me. I do not wake up in the morning with heaviness.

He has really been a wonderful guide to help me and my husband get out of the stress and anxiety we were both going through.

We both have been very open to our friends and social circle in saying - yes we are seeing a therapist, and why shouldn't we? It's one life and we all have the right to live it superbly! We don't have to be answerable to anyone to nurture our mental health.

Doctor Shyam highly recommended. 10 stars for his treatment, consulting, judgement, problem solving ability , confidence. In my first visit itself, he told me the date by which I will get completely fine and my problem will be solved and it did. He proved himself. My last visit was just one date earlier that he had told me with I even more commendable becos he cured my problem before the promised date. Hats off to his confidence and obviously such confidence only comes with expertise and experience. Without a doubt he is the best psychiatrist in Mumbai. Dr. Shyam is a brilliant and genuine therapist who truly cares for his patients, helps them grow and has an end target of eliminating medication and dependency on his sessions. My husband and I began seeing him 3 months back for marital and sexual problems and instead we both got diagnosed with depression which was the root cause of the problem as doctor explained.

Our's is quite a complicated case. We had lost all hope and decided to give therapy a shot before taking a call on our marriage. So glad we met Dr. Shyam who has handled us really well and literally saved our marriage. Both husband and I are very comfortable around him due to his warm, friendly nature. I am an introvert and secretive in nature but I was able to open up to doctor to quite an extent. Husband and I both can see the improvement in ourselves after meeting doctor, both individually as well as a couple. We actually enjoy meeting him as it's like meeting one of our pals.

Dr. Shyam is very prompt to respond on email in times of distress, but he makes sure you do not get dependent on him. He slowly reduces the frequency of consults and also the medicines. I was very skeptical initially about taking medication, but I kept faith in him and he kept my trust by slowly reducing the meds as promised.

I hope to be off medicines very soon and although my husband may take longer, I have 100% faith that both of us will recover fully under doctor's guidance.

I want to express my disappointment with the recent consultation for my mother. After paying a substantial amount for the consultation, the amount is huge for us, we experienced an unacceptably long wait time for Video Consultation ,inspite of taking prior video consultation appointment,with little to no communication from your side. It gave us the impression that my mother's care was not being taken seriously, and we felt disregarded throughout the process.After the consultation, I had to request the prescription multiple times, which was frustrating *** ************** ** ****** **** * *** ** ***** *** ********* **** ****** **** **** ******** *********Moreover, despite being on your medication for over two years, we have not seen any significant improvement in my mother's health* ***** **** ** *** *********** *** ******** ***** *** ********* ********** **** *** ** treat every patient with the care and respect **** ******** regardless of the situation. ********* ****** *** ********* ** **** ********** ** ********* **** ***** *** *** *** ******* This was our last consultation.

I am fortunate and so grateful that i got to know about Dr Shyam sir. I was under his treatment for Major Depressive Disorder. I still remember the first day of treatment, he patiently listened to what i had to say, helped me clear every knots and thoughts that used to disturb me to a great extent. Throughout my journey Dr Shyam sir was the one who actually understood exactly what i was going through. Visiting him relieved half the stress.From the very first day i knew i was going to be fine and i am in great hands .He truly happen to be a light to my darkness and i mean this sincerely.

Before taking the treatment i felt what if i dont come out of it, what if i never heal

But as and when my treatment proceeded I believed more in the path of healing .A little information about the medication that i was put on were Voxitin and Sanzi. I was started with low dose and trust me these medications are super safe with very little side effects .In my case there were no side.

effects.I happen to see changes in me as when time passed getting more healed, more normal, more like the person who i was before.

This may be quite long but it does have a happy ending.

To begin with, I did not have any history of any mental health issues prior to getting covid in July of 2020.

I am a recreational runner and have been healthy throughout my

49 years save a few aches and pains or seasonal flu. It all began quite suddenly with my not being able to sleep post covid hospitalisation. Tried all sorts of sleep inducing techniques, meditation..yoga etc but nothing worked. Having slept like a baby most of my life, the situation became quite unnerving night after night. Before covid I was a healthy 59 kgs for my 5 feet 6 .5 inch frame. But I began to lose weight very rapidly and in about 3 weeks had gone down 12 kgs. My bones stuck out of my clothes and people began to stare at me and pass comments. I had to go to the ER twice with an extremely elevated heart rate which seemed to start without a trigger . But my reports were all normal .

I took up some covid counseling but it didn't make my symptoms go away. Then began the jitteriness and I would have racing thoughts. That's when I FInally decided to meet a psychiatrist who gave me some medication but I really couldn't connect with her. There after I met a couple more with no great results.

Until I met Dr. MITHIYA who provided a simple yet compassionate answer to my problem of mild to moderate anxiety. After his treatment and counseling I felt I was on the right track . He was patient and encouraging during all our meetings . Within a couple of weeks, I started to feel my normal self again. 4 months after beginning his treatment I signed up for a virtual marathon and happy to say I completed it. I did yet another one quite recently. I am now back to my pre -covid health , taking care of my family going out with my friends, and I am not looking back. Dr. Mithiya has successfully weaned me off medication. I practice meditation regularly and enjoy my outdoor workouts. My family and I are very grateful to Dr. Mithiya and would recommend him to anyone struggling with mental health issues.

I was diagnosed with OCD & minor Anxiety. At the beginning you don't really know what you are going through and what exactly is happening with you. I was at this stage where I believe it was uncontrollable and was highly interacting with my daily life and work. Well, I have had episodes before as well but I tried living with it. I was dealing with this since past 8-10 years. This time around, I realised it's high time and was in 2 minds initially whether to consult someone for this or deal with it. I did some research online, was trying to find ways to combat it without seeking help. One day, I just decided out of the blue to at least consult a doctor. I came across Dr. Mithyas profile on practo. Initially I was hesitant to go, I even skipped few appointments but I made my mind and went for it. That was it. I think that's one of the best decisions I made in my life. My sessions started with Dr. From the month of March and within 4 months, I was cured (yes you heard that right, I was cured) I am sure you'll read things online where people will say you cannot cure it but you can reduce the symptoms. I was on medication for about 3 months, again, I was reluctant but Dr. Made sure that our end goal is to eliminate medicines. It's been close to 2 months since I am off medicines and there are no signs of anything coming back. I am doing well workwise as well as in my personal life. I was on meds from my first session and we increased the dose a bit from the 3rd session. I was already feeling well but the challenge was to go off medicines and then see how I feel. Doctor always believed that medicines will subside your symptoms but it's your dedication and your effort that will change things drastically. Those sessions with Dr. did wonders. He will listen to you and talk with you as a friend. I always looked forward to his sessions and in every session I had loads of things to talk about. In the end, I will say, do not hesitate to consult a doctor, it will really help. It helped me, it will help you as well.

I was in a very bad state before consulting Dr Shyam Mithiya. Constantly bothered by my obsessive behaviour, I had forgotten to live. I was completely engrossed in my OCD. Basic day to day activities seemed like daunting tasks.

After my treatment by Dr Mithiya, I have come a long way. There is remarkable improvement and now I can enjoy my life without being hindered by OCD. I can do the things that my OCD prevented me from doing. I can live my life the way I want to without being worried.
