I have become a fan of Dr Sambit Patnaik..we had spent sleepless nights owing to bleeding of dad while passing stools and also in his sleep. He is 80 and had advanced senile dementia with Alzheimer's and a known cardiac patient with high BP and sugars. Now he is on heavy antiplatelets for all this and 25 medicines per day. No doctor would touch him for surgery as it as a life risk. So we had to wait silently as dad suffered and lost blood. No solution in sight we gave him 30 blood transfusion over 5 months. Lastly my Head office in UAE informed me about the Indian surgeon Dr Sambit Patnaik who had treated the company owner and very influential Sheikh of UAE. After a struggle of 3 weeks we could get appointment of Dr Sambit Patnaik who advised us to get him with the intention that he will operate dad when there is a possibility. So we had to plan to move him in an ambulance to Dr Sambit Patnaik's hospital. Once there Dr checked him and said that he will do laser procedure for him immediately and he can home in the evening. I had met Dr Sambit Patnaik for first time at his clinic in Jan 2022 after two years of suffering from piles. He had told me clearly that I had fissures which were a kind of injury and not a disease per se and that we must treat the injury before it turns into disease like abscess or fistula. I was so convinced that I wanted to get rid of it. It was supposed to be a one minute laser procedure and discharge in one hour and recovery by next day. We processed the Cashless and insurance company denied covering laser expenses and so my husband backed out as he didn't want to pay out of pocket. Then my husband wanted a second opinion and took me to another much senior surgeon in Chembur and he told me that medicines are sufficient and that I don't need any Surgical procedure. Then with the Medicines I was alright till mid of March 2022 when suddenly one night I developed severe pain with swelling in the bottom and next day I was not able to pass motions or sit. By evening I developed fever and vomiting. I am finally feeling better.
