I have become a fan of Dr Sambit Patnaik..we had spent sleepless nights owing to bleeding of dad while passing stools and also in his sleep. He is 80 and had advanced senile dementia with Alzheimer's and a known cardiac patient with high BP and sugars. Now he is on heavy antiplatelets for all this and 25 medicines per day. No doctor would touch him for surgery as it as a life risk. So we had to wait silently as dad suffered and lost blood. No solution in sight we gave him 30 blood transfusion over 5 months. Lastly my Head office in UAE informed me about the Indian surgeon Dr Sambit Patnaik who had treated the company owner and very influential Sheikh of UAE. After a struggle of 3 weeks we could get appointment of Dr Sambit Patnaik who advised us to get him with the intention that he will operate dad when there is a possibility. So we had to plan to move him in an ambulance to Dr Sambit Patnaik's hospital. Once there Dr checked him and said that he will do laser procedure for him immediately and he can home in the evening. No need to any anesthesia or injections. We were surprised and didn't know what to do. Then Drs team spoke to all our other doctors and physicians. They also couldn't believe. So Dr Sambit Patnaik asked his cardiologist and Physician to come and be physically present to see how it's done. The procedure was done next day with special standby of dad's doctors in the OT. It took 20 minutes to finish the procedure and close the case. Then dad was moved to the room and discharged in the evening without any medication. All this was in month of Jan 2022 and we went today to shower our goodwill and blessings on Dr Sambit Patnaik for saving my ailing dad and not drop of blood has passed since. We are so relieved. I had met Dr Sambit Patnaik for first time at his clinic in Jan 2022 after two years of suffering from piles. He had told me clearly that I had fissures which were a kind of injury and not a disease per se and that we must treat the injury before it turns into disease like abscess or fistula. I was so convinced that I wanted to get rid of it. It was supposed to be a one minute laser procedure and discharge in one hour and recovery by next day. We processed the Cashless and insurance company denied covering laser expenses and so my husband backed out as he didn't want to pay out of pocket. Then my husband wanted a second opinion and took me to another much senior surgeon in Chembur and he told me that medicines are sufficient and that I don't need any Surgical procedure. Then with the Medicines I was alright till mid of March 2022 when suddenly one night I developed severe pain with swelling in the bottom and next day I was not able to pass motions or sit. By evening I developed fever and vomiting. My husband wanted me to go to the other surgeon and take medicines again but I knew this was something really serious so I called my mother and went to Dr Sambit Patnaik. He checked me and confirmed the worse that my fissure had turned into a massive Perianal abscess. We rushed to do an MRI scan and Dr told me that an emergency draining of pus is required and the fistula will be dealt later with seton and laser. The incision and drainage of abscess was done on 25th March 2022 and after a gruelling one month of dressings and pain and tolerating the seton, my FiLAC laser procedure was done on 27th April 2022. I am finally feeling better. One bad decision of not listening to Dr Sambit Patnaik and trying to save some money led me to spend three times this time as the injury turned disease let alone the suffering and agony. Never neglect your health to save money or some bad advise that sounds easy and seems easy in short term
