I have been experiencing recurrent headaches since the age of 12–13. Initially, they occurred approximately twice a week and I managed them by resting or sleeping, without seeking medical attention. The pain does not have a fixed location—it can involve the entire head or sometimes be localized to one side (left or right). During these episodes, I also experience blurred vision and a sensation similar to a “hangover” or heaviness in the head.
I am currently 20 years old. I recently consulted a general physician and completed a prescribed 30-day course of medication, but there was no significant improvement. However, I was given a specific medication for acute relief that was highly effective, although I do not recall its name. Over-the-counter medications such as Disprin and Saridon have provided minimal or no relief.
I do not have consistent neck pain associated with these headaches, although occasionally neck discomfort seems to coincide with head pain. I have also undergone an eye examination, and no refractive error was found (no need for spectacles).
I have identified several triggers for my headaches, including:
* Exposure to bright light or sunlight
* Flashing lights or screen glare
* Loud noises or stressful environments (e.g., arguments)
* Emotional stress, such as crying
* Dehydration** Physical exertion (e.g., climbing stairs)** Irregular eating patterns (both skipping meals and overeating)** Disturbed sleep (both lack of sleep and oversleeping)** Any physical impact to the head
These headaches have recently become more frequent and are now occurring almost daily.
