Dr. Mayur Jarmarwala

I was suffering horizontal double vision form 21st July 2016. It had happened suddenly when I came home from office that day. I was so scared and went to my family doctor regarding the same. He advised me to go Neurologist Specialist doctor for the treatment. I spoke to Neurologist doctor on call and he said that you will have to get admit for the treatment. Very next day I was admitted to the hospital and he started my treatment. I was admitted for three days but medicines prescribed by him did not improve my horizontal double vision. After being discharged, he prescribed me some more medicines to continue for the treatment. I had his medicines for 45 days but medicines did not improve my horizontal double vision at all. Finally I decided to change the doctor for the treatment.

One of my friend advised me to visit DR. MAYUR JARMARWALA. I visited and told him my whole history regarding horizontal double vision. He checked my eyes and my eyes Movements (Left, Right, Up & Down) as well. After checking my eyes movements, he said that some of my eyes muscles got week that’s why my eyes were not working together both were working separately. I started to have medicines which he prescribed me. After one month, I was able to see properly for straight vision. It took 45 days to see everything single vision around (Left, Right, Up and Down). I was impressed with the medicines which he prescribed me. I was so happy and I cannot explain my feeling’s at all. I told to my family and friends that if you have any problem with the eyes, don’t waste your time anywhere just visit to DR. MAYUR JARMARWALA.

I got a general eye check up done and my IOP (Inter Ocular Pressure) readings of the left eye were 21,23 and 24 whereas right eye readings were 17,18. The visiting doctor at the hospital (not Dr. Mayur) said that i had signs of Glaucoma and i should get a Perimetry test done. The following day i went to the hospital again to get the test done and consult the doctor. That day the visiting doctor happened to be Dr. Mayur Jaramarwala. He checked my iop and used another machine to test my eye. My iop readings were 20,20 for the left eye and 17 for the right eye. He suspected the border line reading could be because of my IT job requiring me to be in front of the screen 10-12 hours a day. He suggested i should make some lifestyle changes that would help reduce the eye strain and asked me to visit again in a months time. Really happy with the diagnosis. I will visit him again to get my eye checked. Really appreciate him not getting the perimetry test done when not required and i am happy i do not have Glaucoma. I hope this feedback helps fellow patients.

6th Aug, 2024, I had my Left eye cataract surgery done, and on the regular follow ups i kept telling Doctor, my vision isnt clear and i still see things blurry. He was NOT at all EMPATHETIC, and wasn't ready to accept the fact that i see things blurry. ** ****** ** ** ****** **** *** ******** **** *** *** ****** ** ********* He kept defending himself.******* *** * *** ********* ** **** *** * *** ***** *** * **** ** **** ******* *** ** ******** ***** ******* *** **** **** ***** And i had to pay heavy price for it. With my vision and on my pocket as well.

• I had told the doctor what are my expectations from the surgery in 2nd visit. (Spectacles free and clear vision for LONG-INTERMEDIATE-CLOSE distance).

• Since i have cylindrical number, TORIC Lenses would be better, but Dr. Mayur Jarmarwala assured that i wont be needing to implant TORIC lenses as it wont make much difference, and will only increase the cost unnecessarily. i will hardly notice the difference.

• Hence, Doctor suggested TRIFOCAL IOL lenses.

* ***** **** *** **** ************** when i asked for certain requirements of documents from the MEDICAL CLAIM purpose.

• Even the receptionist stopped answering my call and there was zero response to my messages from DR. Mayur Jarmarwala.

• Till date i.e 15th OCT, 24, i have not received Tariff Card Rate ( One of the document asked by the claim company) from Dr. Mayur Jarmarwala even after speaking to Dr. Nita Jarmarwala who handles the documentation part of the clinic. and my claim is stuck because of Clinic not providing me with Complete Tariff Rate CARD.

Mean while I decided not to operate my other eye till i get clear vision from the first Surgery. I also started looking for 'Second Opinion' within 15 days of my first surgery, as i mentioned my blurry eye condition to my friends and family members.

This time, I went to ****** EYE HOSPITALS to consult about my Right Eye Cataract and asked for the procedure cost. * *** ******** ** **** **** They charge the same amount. In fact i was explained in details about the kind of lenses that is needed for my right eye and also the latest advansed lenses that Doctor practices are of a certain kind and their post surgery advantages VS the lenses that was implanted in my left eye by Dr. Mayur Jarmarwala.

Hospital staff explained for the kind of result i am expecting can only be delivered with correct kind of lenses, which is TORIC Lenses since i have cylindrical number.

All other doctors refused to perform 2 time surgery on my left eye and replace it with TORIC, as its one time surgery, unless there is post surgery complications that requires the implanted lens to be removed.

I finally got my Right Eye surgery on 3rd Sept, 2024, from a reputed EYE hospital with TORIC IOL implant and my vision is clear.
