Dr. Bhavesh Gohil

My name is Ms Premlata, I am a lady of sixty-seven years of age. I had been diagnosed of Grade 4 Brown Cataract in both eyes requiring urgent surgery. I had a number of queries and doubts concerning the surgery, the choice of IOL, the risks, the expected outcome, the post-operative care, the necessary financial cost-estimate and transparency in billing-terms. Hence, before finalising my decision to consider Dr Bhavesh Gohil's expertise for my cataract surgery, I had solicited medical opinion from other three Eye-Surgeons whose soundness of experience (in number and variety of surgical procedures and respective success therein) either matched or exceeded that of Dr Bhavesh Gohil.

In addition to the primary hard-criteria mentioned above, the secondary soft-criteria that mattered to me were, a) the ability of the Surgeon to not only thoroughly address my queries, but to also proactively offer additional relevant information in comprehensible manner with examples where possible; b) Ease of accessibility, timeliness in communication and punctuality; c) a fair degree of humility in the Surgeon's nature irrespective of the Surgeon's high repute, and regardless of whether I may or may not proceed to their treatment stage; and d) a noticeable degree of humanist approach in the Surgeon's practice.

In comparison to the other three Surgeons whom I had consulted, Dr Bhavesh Gohil met these criteria, which helped me to make an informed decision. During the course of pre-operative interaction and thereafter, Dr Bhavesh Gohil not only demonstrated professional ethics of high order but he also showed patience, kindness and courtesy. In India, health-care practice, be that via individual professionals or via institutions, remains largely unregulated by the Government, the tendency to swindle gullible patients has achieved monstrous proportion, and the recourse available to aggrieved patients to seek grievance-redress in any unfortunate incidence of loss or dispute, are almost non-existent. Therefore, it takes considerable effort to find honest medical advice and treatment. I was able to do that with good guidance from my brother. I was quite convinced when Dr Gohil presented me with three specific price-quality-benefit matrix and explained each in good detail and rationale, when inquired about the choice of IOL etc. The detailed clarifications helped me to carefully weigh the available options suited to the desired outcome of the surgery, as well as, to my budget.

Before I close, the following few observations also deserve mention, first, the polite and caring nature of the staff-members at Dr Bhavesh Gohil's clinic; second, the pleasant, neutral ambience of the clinic's interior combined with the overall hygiene and tidiness which made me feel at home, rather than evoking the characteristic feeling of sickness and gloom which pervades within most health-care service premises.

In January 2018, cataract extraction surgeries were successfully carried out on my both eyes with an interval of one week between each.

I deeply thank Dr Bhavesh Gohil and his team, and I wish them tremendous success in the years to come.

So he made us wait for more than 35 mins without any information sitting in his cabin, when we went in my mom started explaining her problem but he seemed to be made his mind of what the problem is. He said some issue now and when my mom added more info then suddenly the issue is more grave and it might need to be operated. Sounded very arrogant, when my mom tried to add some info while he was explaining he got angry and asked to shut up till he is done with his explanation. Suddenly he feels it can be thyroid or arthritis or any other issue, so I need MRI, CBC Free T3 T4, and many other tests. And I should also consult a rheumatologist and some other specialists (which I told him that we already are but he no use)

Without informing he tried to clean the eye with needle and when my mom reacted in shock(which I believe anyone will if you don't inform that you will be using needle near their eye) then he got angry and said something like "In my 13 years of experience no body have reacted like that".

All in all please save yourself from a bad experience and don't go to him.

My mother and I visited him to get a cataract diagnosis and subsequent surgery done.

The best part about Dr. Gohil is that he takes the time to explain things in simple and understandable language, that all can understand. In addition to my mother's surgery, he also was able to identify the issue with my eyes, which was earlier misdiagnosed as glaucoma.

I would happily recommend Dr. Gohil to anybody requiring medical help with their eyes.

My wife has end stage glaucoma lost one eye vision 10 years back but since the time I have his treatment her vision is stable .
