Mr.Ravi Kumar is a very experienced doctor. He explained the problem to me. Behaved in a friendly manner. I was admitted to the hospital on Saturday midnight. Hospital staff asked us whether we have any preference of doctor. I told that I prefer Dr.Ravi Kumar because 10 months ago I had undergone a stent placement procedure which was done by Dr.Ravi Kumar.
Immediately the hospital staff informed Dr.Ravi Kumar, as I understood. Sunday morning Dr.Ravi Kumar saw me. Posed certain questions. And he came to a decision that CAG to be done, but on Monday morning. Accordingly, every thing went. On ACG, no blockage was found. So immediately recommended for discharge. Everything went well.
But insurance company limited my claim to Rs 21,000 against total bill of Rs.95,000/-. The reason is ACG is a daycare procedure.
In this connection, I would like to state some points.
I was admitted to the hospital at midnight. Because I was feeling pain at midnight, which is not under my control.
Doctor visited and checked me the following day and he took a decision that the procedure will be done on Monday, which is not under my control. That decision has to be taken by the doctor. Definitely it is a decision taken after taking into consideration so many things, previous ECGs, my condition at that point of time and so on.
How an insurance company will say that it's a daycare procedure. We can not ask the heart problem to come only during the day time.
I feel and beli, hospital has nothing to do with the insurance claim. But I submitted my grievance.
