I was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2023 and had to undergo a glossectomy followed by radiation therapy from January to March 2024. For those who do not know, radiation does not differentiate between good and bad cells, and while it helped destroy the cancer, it also caused significant damage to my tongue and surrounding areas, resulting in fibrosis, loss of mobility, and severe difficulties with speaking, chewing, and eating.

I tried a few speech therapy sessions elsewhere but did not find much engagement or progress. Since then, my journey has been full of improvements. I went from struggling to swallow food and lack of clarity in speech, to being able to eat my meals properly and speak much more clearly. We consulted Veethika ma'am in June 2026, for our son Raghav Shah, who wears cochlear implants since oct 2018.

When we met ma'am, our son's speech was not very clear and he was able to talk only in few words and phrases, his vocabulary was limited. His spoken language was not very functional. He was not able to communicate properly using sentences.

Actually we had moved from a different place to gurgaon, so my son was feeling very unsettled and I was all alone managing everything.

So initially Veethika ma'am gave him a very good ABA therapist( Subhasmita ma'am) to settle down his behaviour, parallely did AVT with Pooja ma'am and Oral Therapy with Salgi ma'am.

Veethika ma'am first identified my son's exact issue and then made a month by month plan for him with each therapist. and at the end of each month gave us a progress report.

Pooja ma'am guided me in AVT and explained me what games we can play at home and what all activities we can do at home to enhance his vocal skills. Salgi ma'am help with stimulating the facial muscles with oral therapy and taught us many tongue exercises which are very essential for making different sounds.

We have been taking therapy for nine months, for one and half hour ,four times in a week and I have seen drastic changes in my son's language development and communication skills.

One year back he was not able to communicate with his friend's at school. Now he is able to talk in sentences, though he stills needs prompts many times and makes grammatically errors.

These three therapies have helped him academically also and he has successfully passed his grade 2 and has been promoted to grade 3.

Though there is a long long way to go, still in 8-9 months we have seen a lot of progress.

The therapy center environment is very friendly, neat and clean and occassionally the therapist arrange group sessions and celebrations too, to build their social skills, which is very important for language development.

I am 68 and suffering from severe hearing loss in both ears for over two decades and suddenly in Dec. 2021 I felt like total hearing loss. I tried programmable hearing aids of a reputed brand but wasn't satisfied. Then I consulted Ms. Vitheeka Kapur in Jan. 22 and explained my past experience. She is a very talented, knowledgeable and experience audiologist. She performed a few hearing & speech audiometery tests and was able to precisely diagnose the problem. Based on that she conducted a few sessions of speech audio therapy and programmed the OTICON hearing aids. After a few trials and programmings I was feeling fully satisfied even in extreme noise conditions. Now after about 4 months of being on these aids a sort of miracle has happened and my lost hearing has revived to some extent in one of the ear which was considered close to near total loss for over two decades. I am now confidently meeting & communicating with people, which I had been avoiding earlier.

My daughter is 4.6yrs now....she was a premie, born in 29weeks. Everything was fine with her hearing initially. She even started babbling,saying a few words too...but suddenly she stopped speaking. I visited Dr. Veethika wanting to upgrade my hearing aids. I have been using hearing aids for the past 9 years, and I simply wanted to go get a new, good quality hearing aid. Frankly, I was expecting this to be a routine transaction; but I was pleasantly surprised with how it was not.

The doctor first had my audiometry test done and took the effort to understand my problem in detail, post which she recommended a device, which according to her, would help me best. She even gave this to me on a trial basis so that I can judge the device myself after using the same.

It deserves a special mention that before recommending the device, the doctor, very patiently, explained to me the working of a hearing aid, the working of our auditory perception, and how, given this, the aids I had been using till now we're not upto the mark, and doing more harm than good to me, given my relatively young age.

I have been using the device for some time now and the doctor and her staff have always been approachable for even the minutest of issues, like changing the device settings, and have always helped me with prompt action for the same.

The device I am using now is helping me hear (and thus speak) much more clearly. Sounds which used to be muffled earlier, and which I had just accepted as a lifelong phenomenon, are being perceived by me now. This was the first visit to the Dr. Veethika Kapur. She has a boutique clinic which is well equipped and there is a speech therapist too. I was well attended and the doctor gave a very patient hearing to all my issues. we spent a considerable amount of time and i felt really good post my consultation and purchase of new hearings aids. The doctor wasn't keen to sell me the expensive aids but the one that suited me most. Hence I liked this approach a lot and much better than my earlier ear aids seller.

Ms. Veethika was clear and transparent with the problem and the solution. She answered all my questions with patience and her expertise. She has a great team of therapists. I was under Ms. Smita Pani. She is very warm and pleasant. I had almost lost hope that I would get my voice normalcy back post Laryngitis.
