After qualifying from Birmingham University, he completed his orthopedic training in the midlands.From 1990 to 1997, he worked as a consultant orthopedic surgeon at City Hospital, Birmingham, where in addition to undertaking surgery, he established the orthopedic department as a clinical director.In 1997, he moved to Royal Orthopedic Hospital, where he undertook arthroscopic surgery of the hip, knee shoulder and ankle joints. He also carried out replacement surgery pertaining to these joints. He devised minimally invasive (mi) hip resurfacing and minimally invasive hip replacement surgery using specifically designed instruments by himself. In the last 4 years he have carried out more than 500 minimally invasive hip resurfacing and replacement surgeries.He has demonstrated these mi techniques to various surgeons and have lectured on this subject in UK, Europe, India, South Africa and Australia.He has also filed over 20 PATENTS pertaining to orthopedics surgery. One of his patents the ‘CHANA® REAMER HANDLE’ is sold globally manufactured through Greatbatch, USA. His other IP is licensed into various other orthopedic companies
