Wisdom Tooth link with Jaw Deviation
Is there any evidence that removing unerupted impacted wisdom teeth will remove pressure from the jaw joints? Will it cure jaw deviation and jaw popping in any way? Or will it make the problem worse due to prolonged mouth opening for wisdom tooth extraction surgery? Is it worth going for surgical extraction of the wisdom teeth as a cure for TMJ disorder? Or is it not related to TMJ disorder in any way? If the unerupted impacted tooth is not paining or giving problem at the moment, is it worth going for a wisdom tooth removal surgery only for the purpose of curing TMJ?

Hi Kindly attach OPG for better assistance. The most common reason for jaw popping and deviation is because of impacted wisdom teeth. Access for the last tooth is difficult,so wide opening is mandatory,it ll not cause any issues for prolonged duration,it ll resolve in a week, provided you follow all the instructions given by ur dental surgeon If u don't extract impacted teeth than ur TMJ issue will turn more severe. It is wise to get them extracted rather than keeping it. Hope ur question is answered.
Next Steps
kindly visit nearby oral and maxillofacial surgeon for physical examination and evaluation
Health Tips
*Avoid wide opening of mouth. *Using spoon while having food instead of hand. *use  cold or warm sponging near the TMJ joint externally. *Avoid over use of jaw muscles *when u yawn support ur jaw with ur hand *If u have any habit of grinding or clenching plz do avoid it. *Avoid sleeping on the side which is affected.
