Hi doctor,
As per my dentist advice I have removed my wisdom teeth on both side of my mouth. And I came to know there has been stiches laid on the same area.
Almost three weeks done. Now I have no pain in my mouth. Is it necessary to remove the stitches or it will fall as it is. I am afraid if it will pain?
Pleasa advice.

Whether stitches need to be removed after wisdom tooth extraction depends on the type of stitches used. Some stitches are designed to dissolve on their own over time and do not require removal. However, if non-dissolvable stitches are used, your dentist or oral surgeon will typically need to remove them during a follow-up appointment.
The removal process is usually quick and relatively painless. Your dentist will numb the area with local anesthesia if necessary, and then carefully remove the stitches. While you may feel some slight discomfort or pressure during the process, it is generally well-tolerated by most patients.
Leaving non-dissolvable stitches in place for too long can increase the risk of complications such as infection or irritation, so it's important to follow your dentist's instructions regarding stitch removal. If you have concerns about pain or discomfort during the removal process, discuss them with your dentist beforehand. They can provide you with guidance and address any worries you may have.
Hi,
It is advisable to remove the stitches after 1 week. Also removal of stitches depends on the kind of sutures placed. If they are Absorbable sutures, then it is okay to if it is not removed, but would still advise you to remove it after 1 week to 10 days. But if they are non-absorbable sutures, then it is advisable to remove it after 1 week.
There will be minimal to no pain during suture removal.
