Appreciate your concern.
Your son have started using semisolid foods along with formula milk.. So it's completely normal to have a bit of constipation. Altered bowel habits in infants should be of concerned if he is passing infrequent stools with foul smell,/lots of mucus or bleeding.
Next Steps
maintain a balanced diet.
don't Overzealously start feeding your child like 10year old as it will cause bloating, indigestion

Hello parent!
Colour of stool is normal - depends on dietary intake of the baby. You can take the following steps to relieve constipation:
- oral sips of water after a feed or meal
- instead of potatoes give sweet potatoes
- can offer fruit puree of pears, mangoes, watermelon, apple and ripe avocados - be sure it’s of a semi runny consistency and not very grainy
- similarly can boil and puree vegetables esp broccoli, spinach or any other greens, pumpkin, carrots, etc. These can be mixed with one another or in khitchri too
