Dear practo user. Weight gain is very common symptom of PCOS because of irregularities in menstrual cycle. Yes apple cider vinegar has health benefits but only one single food is not super food or magical food which helps you instantly to reduce weight or manage PCOS. Dear Practo user For recommending a personalized diet,I would need to understand the basic parameters like Height Weight Ur food recall Daily activity routine Sleep pattern. Other underlying medical issues etc. as per the information given by u, weight gain happened in a year time span, so don't expect to reduce it quickly or overnight. * Apple cider vinegar alone won't reduce weight* If you r keen to take up a personalized assessment and wtloss program under my guidance, u can visit my page https://instagram.com/rm.nutrition4all Or connect me via practo Regards Remya

Hello, Weight gain in PCOS is very common and it is mainly due to the imbalance in the hormones as well as the lifestyle. Weight loss improves insulin resistance as PCOS make it difficult for the body to utilize insulin effectively.  With PCOS weight loss is a slow & gradual process and a lot of patience & consistency is required. It is definitely possible to lose weight with the right eating practice and regular physical activity. A personalized diet is highly recommended in your case as it takes into account your lifestyle, medications, routine, medical condition, eating habits etc. Apple cider vinegar alone won't help you to lose weight though it has its own health benefits. But a combination of exercise, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle changes will be helpful. As a start, you can make the following changes  1. The diet should be low on carbs with adequate protein & fibre intake as it helps in managing the insulin levels 2. Incorporate unprocessed/whole foods like fresh fruits & vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains 3. Have complex carbohydrates like wheat, jawar, bajra, brown rice & avoid refined flour & its products 4. Limit the intake of sugar, and avoid sweets, fried foods, junk food etc 5. Do not skip meals as skipping meals leads to unhealthy snacking & craving 6. Have balanced & nutritious meals throughout the day 7. Drink 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day at regular intervals to keep yourself well hydrated 8. Exercise for 45 minutes 6 days a week

I am sure you must be aware that PCOS is a hormonal and lifestyle disorder. Unless the hormonal balance is restored through comprehensive lifestyle changes and corrections, sustainable and healthy weight loss cannot be achieved. Weight loss achieved any other way will only come back if internal health is not taken care of. But the good news is, its very much achievable. Please get in touch with me to know more and get proper advise regarding your health issue.

Hi, PCOS is due to hormonal imbalance, resulting weight gain and others problems. Most important part is to maintain the hormonal balance by following lifestyle modification. A well balanced weight reduction diet will be helpful along with exercises. But you need to keep patience as it's a gradual process and need time. Include more vegetables, fruits and complex carbohydrates in your diet. Apple cider vinegar is helpful, but result is varying from one to one. It will be more effective along with following diet, exercise and other habits.
Next Steps
