Dear Doctor, This question is being asked for my wife. As she is 39yrs old and 70kg. She feels that her body is overweight due to less physical activity. As she is house wife, there is no outside going work or physical activity. She is having thyroid & taking thyrox 25. So Kindly suggest measures as  under mentioned: 1) to Reduce the weight for at least 5kg 2) Reduce weight without being tired. 3) suggest some ayurvedic medicines if required 4) any other suggestions Thank you Regards

You have to understand that weight gain is not due inactive lifestyle or just over eating.  It is because of hormonal imbalance coupled with eating wrong foods. Female - 39yrs old - facing Hypothyroidism and Weight gain.... 1. Harmonal issues 2. Obesity Management - 1. Maintain Life style management 2. Eat less but for four times per day. 3. I need some more info to calculate her daily energy expenditure and fat percentage. 1) height 2) fat% 3) current daily calorie intake 4) sleeping pattern and stress level So I will give some generic instructions which she can follow. 1) start walking for 10 min per day and increase to 30 minute slowly in two weeks. 2) Increase daily protein intake and eat minimum 150 gm protein food per day 3) reduce carbohydrate intake (rice, rice products, wheet products etc) 4) do intermittent fasting if possible 5) drinking minimum 2.5 -3 ltrs of water daily 6) Timely sleep is essential of minimum 7 hours. 7) cop up with stress Medicines won't help her much but to regulate her thyroid disfunction only.
