When you are targeting weight gain , work towards muscle weight not fat weight. A well planned diet eliminating junk food along with stretching exercise will help

Please note,  Weight Gain should  be healthier  way.  Key is to know the root cause.  Need   detail history to suggest diet modifications. Medical history,  lab reports need to be considered along with Quality, Quantity,  timings of food  , food combinations etc. it  matters a lot.   So I will recommend to go for personalized diet solution. Some time body generates excess heat that leads to weight loss and other problems like fatigue etc. better to get that checked and on that basis only add any type of food in your diet
