Want to save teeth
I have one wisdom teeth on upper left position which haven't started creating any problem but it has cavity in it. Mainly the the decay is there in the lateral side. I had consulted with one of the dentist and he said that he is not sure whether he would be able to proceed with filling or not as according to him filling can expose my nerves and in that case I have to extract it then and there. My question is, only extraction is the way or it is possible to save it as it's not causing any problem

Hi there. Wisdom tooth is tricky to treat. If it's not causing any problems and there is decay you can get it restored. If there is pain and nerve exposure then better to get it extracted. All the best. Regards.

You can get an X-ray done to get a better idea of how deep is the decay. Depending on that it can be decided whether the tooth can be saved. Wisdom tooth usually we do not advice Root canal treatment but if the decay is too deep and your sure about not getting it extracted then you can opt for root canal by an endodontist.
Next Steps
Get an IOPA (X Ray) done
Health Tips
Decision can only be made after evaluating the X-ray

Filling a wisdom tooth is difficult when there is no proper access . It’s very difficult for the instruments to reach that area . Even if your wisdom teeth aren't causing any pain or other problems, they may cause problems at some point. The most common problems are decay, infection and crowding or damage to other teeth. Teeth next to the wisdom teeth are more prone to developing gum problems. As you age, the bones in your mouth get harder. That makes your teeth tougher to remove. If the cavity is deep you can go ahead and get it extracted . prevent future problems and to ensure optimal healing you get it extracted as early as possible . Take care
