A Vitamin D level of 3 ng/mL is considered a severe deficiency and is very likely contributing to the back pain and muscle soreness described. Here is a concise breakdown of the situation: Symptoms: Severe Vitamin D deficiency often leads to bone pain (osteomalacia) and muscle weakness, which explains why the soreness persists after exercise. Fatty Liver & Medication: Vitamin D supplements (Cholecalciferol) are generally safe for the liver. In fact, maintaining adequate Vitamin D levels may actually support metabolic health and liver function. Recommendation: Due to the severity of the deficiency, high-dose therapeutic supplementation (often 60,000 IU weekly for a specific period) is usually required. This must be prescribed by a doctor to ensure the dosage is safe and effective for the patient's specific health profile. Next Steps Consult a Physician: To get a prescription for the correct dosage of Vitamin D3. Optimize Nutrition: Focus on a diet that supports weight management and liver health while ensuring adequate calcium intake. Consult Me, Praneetha for a more detailed and personalized diet plan.

Vitamin D level of 3 is considered severe deficiency and it can definitely cause back pain, muscle soreness and fatigue. In people with fatty liver and obesity, Vitamin D metabolism also gets affected, so correction needs a properly planned nutrition + supplement protocol, not just tablets. Along with Vitamin D, factors like magnesium, calcium balance, gut absorption and body fat reduction also play an important role. I usually guide patients with a step-wise diet and supplementation plan specific for fatty liver and vitamin D correction. If you want, you can connect with me and I can help you plan it properly.
