I have suffered from UTI before as well. I want to know if I should go to a gynec for that or a general physician will do.?? Also please specify the symptoms of UTI as m not clear. Thnk you.

Symptoms of UTI -
Pain while passing urine, urgency in urination, increased frequency, mild lower abdominal pain on & off, fever, flank pain.
Get a urine culture and blood sugar levels done.
Consult a gynec.
Do not forget to drink minimum 3 - 4 litres of water daily.
Maintain personal hygiene.

UTI usually presents and recurrentwith pain lower abdomen or flanks;increased urinary frequency chill and in recurrenr UTI one should do a urine culture sensitivity; setum blood sugar estimation ; usg of whole abdomen ; X-Ray KUB region. As precaution one should drink at least 3 to4 litres of water per day and shoud wash the hands with soap before and after
Symptoms of UTI are burning and pain while passing urine, increase frequency of urination and hesitancy and feeling of incomplete mictuirition, sometimes fever with chills.
Apart from what Dr. Sarika has adviced, the course of treatment should be completed and timely taken as adviced. Repeat urine culture to be done after one week of last dose of antibiotic, till it is sterile.
Go to gynac... Do internal check up as well.. Many women miss the symptoms of internal infection... If recurring uti.. Take prebiotic tb as well it will help you as well do USG, urine culture sensitivity also, do sugar test also
