Hi.
You should avoid all the food items which increases your uric acid.
Get your uric acid test done after 2 weeks of the therapy .
If in case there is no improvement then dose can be modified or some other medications can be started after proper consultation with the doctor.
Dietary modification are important to lower the uric acid levels. I consider Allopurinol more safe and effective method to lower serul uric acid levels. Consult a doctor near by to check your toe properly get ESR CRP levels checked and don't forget about spine. Sometimes disc problems especially in lower spine levels may present as burning sensation or paresthesias in great toe
Unless you had gouty arthritis, uric acidkidney stones or renal failure, there is no indication to take febuxostat just for a high uric acid value. Stop the drug if you never had any of the above indications
Next Steps
Consult a Rheumatologist if you have joint or musculoskeletal symptoms
