An unhealed tear persisting for 17 months despite multiple re-suturing procedures is not a typical healing pattern and requires careful evaluation. The reason for delayed healing could be persistent local irritation, repeated trauma, infection, poor blood supply, excessive tension on the wound, scar tissue formation, or an underlying medical condition affecting wound healing. Simply undergoing repeated suturing may not resolve the problem if the underlying cause has not been identified. From an Ayurvedic perspective, chronic non-healing wounds can often be managed with an individualized approach aimed at supporting tissue healing and improving local wound health. However, the success of treatment depends on the location of the tear, its depth, the cause of the original injury, and the current condition of the wound. It would not be appropriate to promise a cure without a detailed clinical assessment.
Next Steps
Please provide a few additional details: Where exactly is the tear located? How did the injury occur? Is there persistent pain, discharge, bleeding, or swelling? Has the wound remained open continuously, or does it heal and reopen? Are you experiencing any difficulty with daily activities because of it? Since the wound has persisted for 17 months, avoid repeated self-treatment or home remedies without a proper evaluation. A detailed examination is essential to understand why healing has been delayed and to determine the most appropriate management. For personalized assessment, better guidance, and a holistic Ayurvedic treatment approach for chronic non-healing wounds, you may connect with us at 9 3 1 5 6 6 1 5 6 5.
Health Tips
Keep the affected area clean and protected from repeated friction or trauma. Maintain a balanced diet rich in natural proteins, fresh fruits, vegetables, and adequate hydration to support tissue repair. Avoid smoking if applicable, as it can impair wound healing. Most importantly, a wound that has remained unhealed for over a year deserves a comprehensive evaluation rather than repeated symptomatic treatment. Many chronic wounds can improve once the underlying cause of delayed healing is correctly identified and addressed. Thank you

“A tear that has remained unhealed for 17 months despite multiple re-sutures is not typical and requires evaluation by the treating surgeon to identify the underlying cause (such as infection, poor blood supply, excessive tension, underlying medical conditions or a chronic sinus/fistula). While Ayurveda or homeopathy may have a supportive role in overall healing in selected cases, there is no reliable evidence that they can heal a chronic non-healing tear on their own, especially after failed surgical repairs. **Please consult me with the location of the tear, the cause of the original injury/surgery, any biopsy or culture reports, and recent photographs if available. Based on these, I can advise whether Ayurvedic supportive treatment may be appropriate alongside further surgical evaluation.”
