Hello…. As much i can understand from what you’ve told it could be a cavity … See if food is getting stuck there for a long time it could cause a cavity … A cavity can be seen blackish browish in colour on tooth. Sometimes the depth of cavity cannot be analysed by pain or appearance… You should go to a dentist and get an xray done just to make sure the depth to which the cavity has gone… Even if isn’t paining it might have become a deep cavity or could go to a root canal stage in no time that can only be analysed by an X-ray that you need to get done . Once you get an X-ray done, you can decide safely to get it restored by a dentist.
Next Steps
Get an X-Ray done first most to get a clear picture of your tooth condition.
Health Tips
Try not to get any food stuck in or between your teeth for longer period as it is the main cause for a cavity and once a cavity is formed it will only get deeper and cause more problems for that tooth and adjacent tooth as well …the solution is to get the carious part removed and get it restored as soon as possible.

Hello Yes, it is a cavity. They can be intial cavities thats why you may not be feeling any pain sensation. Its basically a slow and continuous process of demineralisation of the enamel over your tooth surface. If the issue is left unattended, it can progress further at a faster pace causing more destruction of your enamel and it may penetrate into deeper layers, it is the point where you will start feeling pain ranging from mild to severe. If the cavity is ignored, it can increase further and reach your pulp area that is the innermost region where nerve and blood supply is there and you may end up with no option other than Root Canal which can be expensive.
Next Steps
My advice: 1. Keep your oral hygiene good as much as possible. 2. Rinse your mouth after every meal properly. 3. Brush your teeth twice a day and use floss for cleaning in between the teeth. 4. Most importantly, get the cavity restored as soon as possible to halt further damage and to keep sound tooth structure.
Health Tips
1.Avoid sticky foods. 2. Reduce your sugar intake especially during night time as our salivary flow is less while we sleep. It can cause the cavity to increase gradually.
