Hi, decision on adjuvant treatment is done based on the size of the tumour, depth of invasion pathologically, node involvement. If you have undergone surgery for tongue cancer, they would have addressed nodes in neck also surgically. If those nodes were involved or not, will be mentioned in your histopathology report. It’s based on these along with other factors like LVSI, PNI etc that the doctor decides if you should undergo radiation therapy.
