Tissue Tear
I have consulted a few doctors regarding my tissue tear, and they have advised me to undergo surgery. What do you suggest—should I go ahead with the operation, or can it be treated without surgery?

Hello sir. Would appreciate if you give me a detailed history. 1) how many days back did you experience the trauma? 2) were you able to bear weight immediately after the injury? 3) occupation? 4)comorbidities 4) clinical picture of the foot and ankle, to asses the soft tissue swelling ATFL injury is one of the most common type of injury in the ankle. Most of the people do well with conservative management with one episode of injury and him being a non-athlete. Considering that you are not an athlete and have experienced the trauma recently
Next Steps
1)Book an appointment and send me the clinical picture, before following the below advice: 2) apply delta cast for 3weeks followed by crepe bandage for another 3weeks 3) complete non-weight bear walking for 6weeks, use a walker to walk with weight on the other normal limb 4) Physio- static quadriceps, SLR, VMO, toe movement for 6weeks, after 6weeks gradual ankle mobilisation to be started 5) analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications 6) limb elevation with ice application
Health Tips
This advice is completely based on the MRI and not the final verdict. No clinical examination done Book an appointment with me or follow-up with a local doctor
