Throbbing pain and excruciating headache
I went to the dentist to get a root canal done on the tooth way in the back (not the molar) on the right side. Unfortunately, since it was too far back, my dentist stopped my root canal and plugged it with filling (called something with a 9 in it). He told me that he wants to see me in 2 weeks bc we have to let it heal. If they can’t get it the second time, they’ll have to refer me. Basically I have an unfinished root canal. It’s been throbbing and aching for the past four days.

A proper history of your pain is required , some questions need to answered , like any past swelling , bleeding or pus coming out. if there is swelling then it suggests you have a infection in your bone below your teeth. some times it requires for your dentist to put some medications in your teeth and leave for about 15 days to a month for that infection to come down.
Next Steps
you can continue antibiotics and painkillers given by your dentist and dont miss your follow up visits to the dentist if your pain reduces.
